E-government at national and European level embraces information
being kept electronically. Safeguarding the continuity of both government
and commercial organisations, meeting statutory legal/audit demands and
government regulations is now recognised as a mandatory part of an organisation's
information strategy.

targets for creating electronic records and delivering services on-line
