John D. Sarsgard
Vice President, Worldwide Linux Sales
John Sarsgard is responsible for the sales and support of IBM hardware,
middleware, and services for Linux worldwide. John and his team, and the
geographic IBM units they support, help customers select applications
appropriate for Linux, decide on the infrastructure needed, and develop
implementation plans that meet their business needs. He also works with
others in the Linux community within and outside IBM to promote awareness
of Linux and its growing capabilities and value.
John previously led the IBM Americas Linux team, and earlier was Vice President, ERP Solution Sales. In that role, he worked with the leading application software companies to support our joint customers in building complete solutions for large application projects. John also served in several development assignments involving computer graphics, CAD/CAM, and distributed computing, as well as in numerous sales roles after joining IBM in 1976. He holds a B.A.degree in mathematics and an M.S. in computer science from Mississippi State University.
