The economy is tough, and now is the time to work strategically as well as tactically in order to prepare the organisation for the long term. A critical examination of the IT environment will help uncover opportunities which will not only save money in the short term but will better prepare it for the future. Understanding and optimizing IT assets will improve utilisation and can also help defer planned capital expenditure.

This session will provide additional background to the challenges organisations face and examine how infrastructure standardisation will help IT prepare for the economic uptick as well as reduce IT risk.

In order to understand the opportunities for costs containment, organisations need to undertake an assessment of their current IT landscape and create a set of prioritised project or programme activities which demonstrate clear ROI's and IT business case principles that support a set of revised business objectives and imperatives. This can be a daunting prospect if you are unsure of your current spend and operational efficiency; simply put - where do you start?

Rapid IT Cost Containment from Symantec Global Services builds on established services and technology offerings designed to rapidly deliver improvements in IT Operational Efficiency and Asset utilisation. The assessment is a structured, repeatable process that uses our Rapid Efficiency Assessment Program (REAP) to quickly provide the information you require to know where to focus you cost saving activities.
